Can You Tell The Difference Between Riot And Wrong?

At PJ Media, I touch on “riot shaming,” the latest from our friends in the open-air asylum of the United States of 2015:

Evidently “riot shaming” is an actual concept now: a human being’s neurons actually misfired so spectacularly as to produce the idea that opposing mass violence, destruction, and theft is worse than the mass violence, destruction, and theft themselves.

How Long Will The United States Last?

At PJ Media, I say what everyone is thinking:

Every week this country is consumed in a new distended orgy of polarized, mutual hatred, set against the backdrop of outrage mobs, race riots, shuttered businesses, scandals, Twitter-induced career ruination, gleeful smear parties, and partisan hackery.

Admit it: You’ve asked yourself where America is going, and how long it can survive the trip. Admit it.

[…]
Larger forces are at work here, and it seems to me that a dispassionate assessment of the United States in 2015 must include the possibility of a major rupture in our social and political order within ten years. Probably less.

Can you “oppress” someone with free speech?

At PJ Media, I wonder where we as a society are going when many college students now believe that free speech is “oppressive”:

What do we as a society do when communication continues to break down to this level? What do you say to somebody who genuinely believes that he is being oppressed by you for speaking?

Another story in the annals of stolen valor…

From me in PJ Media:

Normally these loser-fakes are called out by real veterans. In this case, Mr. Coins, the one who confronted the loser-fake, was never in the military. He nevertheless displays solid basic knowledge about the kinds of questions a real veteran would be able to answer in a few nanoseconds.
